In town here nothing eating wise is open, not even to go.since tourist season is really next week, for the Tulip festivals, they have remained close since Michigan lockdown was strict and a tad over the top. On way back, will take 4 days, and stay 2 nights near SMNP as it opens May 9th, do some hiking, spring is gorgeous in the valleys there with wild flowers and waterfalls. Will be up here 2 weeks, make a side trip tom Chicago a night next week. Have a bird nest with 2 eggs near the front of house.small little songbird, bird not sure what it is. Hit the Lowes and the Grocery, capacity is managed at all stores here, and you need a mask to go into Target or Bog Box now.a good thing.īeen doing yard work and house work. I then was in Indianapolis as 8am, and got another tank of gas, then headed up Rt 31 to Benton Harbor Michigan, and up I-96 to Holland, and was at the cottage at 11am. So I showered up and took off, and stopped at McDonalds for breakfast/coffee at the Drive Thru only, between Lexington and Cincinnati at 6am.hit the spot. I went to a Mexican places for carry out and got tacos and 2 tecate beers and ate them in a nearby park, gorgeous spring evening. The Marriott has 2 of 3 floors open, but no bar or breakfast buffet. Then I drove from there to south of Lexington KY to Berea, and got a hotel there.

There was no traffic, few trucks, but a very stress free drive. The rest areas/bathrooms are open in TN as they were in every state. I then filled up again south of Knoxville TN, near the SMNP area, which is still closed. I did happen to get lucky and see the Blue Angels take off from Dobbing AFB for downtown ATL, all the overpasses had cars, spectators, US Flags and fire trucks with lights on, so that was cool. There were no check points for cars going into Florida, but maybe there is over in I-95 since that is where New York area folks would be driving down. I passed through ATL about 1:15 afrer getting a tank gas in Valdosta GA, which is close to the the Florida/GA state line. I departed Florida at 7am Saturday, as to avoid any bad traffic in Altanta, as the main Interstate I-75 north goes through downtown. Thought I would let everyone know how my drive from Tampa Florida to Holland Michigan went.
